Responsibilities
- Lead the technical discipline of EE FA and serve as the subject matter expert in PCB Failure Analysis.
- Facilitate and lead failure analysis activities for incidents from reliability testing and fielded systems.
- Identify root causes and drive corrective actions across teams.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define requirements for electrical failure analyses and improve manufacturing processes.
- Mentor and train junior electrical engineers in failure and root cause analysis.
- Prepare and present failure analysis reports to various levels of Rivian engineering and leadership.
- Work with reliability engineering to recreate failure modes and provide insights for improvements.
Job Requirements
- MSc/PhD in Electrical Engineering with 6-8 years of relevant experience in EE FA.
- Strong background in testing and analysis of electronic components and PCBAs.
- Extensive experience with Low Voltage PCBA Failure Analysis and electrical testing methods.
- Experience in high voltage electrical failures and fundamental failure analysis investigations.
- Ability to prepare formal reports and present findings to engineering and leadership.
- Hands-on experience with common FA Lab capabilities and familiarity with lithium-ion battery chemistries.
