Staff Reliability Engineer

The Staff Reliability Engineer at SPAN will ensure the reliability and performance of energy management products through systematic analysis and testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement reliability engineering processes.

Responsibilities

  • Review new product BOMs to ensure electrical and mechanical component ratings meet product operating conditions.
  • Create and maintain test and reliability reports summarizing product performance outcomes.
  • Inform product design through component HALT and Sherlock simulations to mitigate reliability risks.
  • Develop and implement reliability testing plans and methodologies to assess product performance and durability.
  • Conduct Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and root cause analysis to identify design issues and ensure corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to evaluate product reliability and provide feedback for design improvements.
  • Lead Failure Analyses (e.g., 8D) on issues discovered during testing and recommend changes to product hardware.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics and Controls Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably in hardware products.
  • Understanding of material degradation mechanisms and designing experiments for reliability lifetime modeling.
  • Proficiency in reliability analysis tools and methodologies, including FMEA and fault tree analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and software for reliability data analysis.
