The Staff Reliability Engineer at SPAN will ensure the reliability and performance of energy management products through systematic analysis and testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement reliability engineering processes.
Responsibilities
- Review new product BOMs to ensure electrical and mechanical component ratings meet product operating conditions.
- Create and maintain test and reliability reports summarizing product performance outcomes.
- Inform product design through component HALT and Sherlock simulations to mitigate reliability risks.
- Develop and implement reliability testing plans and methodologies to assess product performance and durability.
- Conduct Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and root cause analysis to identify design issues and ensure corrective actions.
- Collaborate with design engineers to evaluate product reliability and provide feedback for design improvements.
- Lead Failure Analyses (e.g., 8D) on issues discovered during testing and recommend changes to product hardware.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics and Controls Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably in hardware products.
- Understanding of material degradation mechanisms and designing experiments for reliability lifetime modeling.
- Proficiency in reliability analysis tools and methodologies, including FMEA and fault tree analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and software for reliability data analysis.
