Power Components Engineer, Electrical (Starship)

The Power Components Engineer, Electrical at SpaceX will be part of the Starship electrical hardware development team, focusing on advanced electronics for space travel and the mission of enabling human life on Mars.

• Serve as the responsible engineer for the design and qualification of high-voltage batteries and electromechanical components.
• Conduct thermal, structural, dynamic, and tolerance analysis for electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Participate in mechanical design, 3D modeling, and production drawing creation.
• Perform failure analysis of components related to thermal loads and vibration.
• Collaborate with machine shops and production teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Manage hardware delivery timelines from inception to integration.
• Engage in internal design reviews and interactions with suppliers and customers.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a similar field.
• Experience in mechanical/electromechanical hardware design and analysis.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience with electromechanical design.
• Proficiency in hand calculations, finite element analyses (FEA), and CAD software.
• Knowledge of power component design fundamentals.
• Experience with high-volume production designs focusing on manufacturability.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
