The New Graduate Engineer, Propulsion role at SpaceX involves developing fluid systems for interplanetary vehicles, focusing on design, analysis, and manufacturing processes related to propulsion systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform fluids system sizing analysis to determine system requirements
- Transform system requirements into hardware concepts and trade implementation options
- Design pressurized and unpressurized structures and parts, creating CAD models and prints
- Perform structural analysis of parts to ensure survivability
- Execute design for manufacturability changes to enhance production efficiency
- Drive the first builds of flight hardware and collaborate with the manufacturing team
- Coordinate development, qualification, and acceptance testing of flight hardware
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics
- 1+ years of mechanical or fluids design, analysis, or build experience
- Experience with fluid dynamics, finite element modeling, or related software
- Familiarity with pressurized components (valves, regulators, etc.)
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software packages
- Proficiency in Siemens NX or similar CAD software
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
