Responsibilities
- Design and analyze mechanical systems for launch pads, recovery, and production tooling.
- Demonstrate complete end-to-end project ownership, coordinating the build, testing, and activation of the hardware designed.
- Collaborate closely with launch operations teams to ensure product expectations are met.
- Apply technical knowledge to structural sizing, mechanisms, and design while considering cost and schedule.
- Present cost and schedule trade proposals to leadership.
- Work in an integrated team environment, interacting daily with technicians and engineers.
- Be willing to travel to other SpaceX locations as necessary.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of professional experience with design software (NX, CATIA, Creo, Solidworks) or analysis software (ANSYS, ABAQUS, FEMAP).
- Project management experience in aerospace, industrial, or power generation is preferred.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Proactive attitude and ability to lead projects.
- Willingness to meet physical requirements of the role, including lifting and climbing.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible for required authorizations due to ITAR regulations.
