Responsibilities
- Develop design concepts and size vehicle structures based on flight loads.
- Collaborate with peers to create designs balancing mass, cost, and capability.
- Create detailed designs and generate CAD models in NX for components and assemblies.
- Build finite element models to analyze structures and ensure they meet vehicle needs.
- Perform hand calculations and empirical assessments to iterate designs.
- Validate designs by building development articles for strength testing.
- Support hardware assembly in the factory and witness designs taking flight.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
- 1+ years of engineering experience in design, analysis, or building structures.
- Strong data-driven decision-making skills.
- Ability to perform trade studies and make recommendations based on engineering fundamentals.
- Experience in a nimble engineering environment or technical position.
- Passion for hardware and experience building real-world products.
- Demonstrated resilience and ability to overcome challenges.
