Responsibilities
- Develop innovative, manufacturable flow control devices and mechanisms for Starship and Super Heavy systems.
- Simplify and optimize component deliveries by questioning requirements and deleting unnecessary parts and processes.
- Collaborate with stage, avionics, and flight safety teams to inform system-level architecture for cost-effective payload delivery.
- Partner with production and design teams to improve designs for assembly/testing and implement automation.
- Maintain work instructions and train others on production processes.
- Collect and process complex engineering datasets to identify trends or failure modes.
- Ensure compliance with ITAR requirements and handle high explosive devices as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in physics or an engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of hands-on manufacturing, testing, or design experience (internships and project teams qualify).
- Strong foundation in solid mechanics, fluid dynamics, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with electro-mechanical devices and CNC operation.
- Proficient in engineering drawings and inspection methods.
- Willingness to obtain ATF explosives clearance.
- Experience in software development in SQL or Python is preferred.
