The Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing (Starship Components) at SpaceX will develop advanced spacecraft components, focusing on flow control devices and mechanisms for the Starship and Super Heavy systems. • Develop manufacturable flow control devices and mechanisms for spacecraft systems.
• Optimize and simplify design and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve system-level solutions.
• Partner with production and design teams to enhance delivery rates and yield.
• Design tooling and maintain work instructions for manufacturing processes.
• Train team members and implement targeted automation in production.
• Analyze engineering datasets to identify trends and failure modes.

• Bachelor’s degree in physics or engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of hands-on manufacturing, testing, or design experience.
• Strong foundation in mechanics, fluid dynamics, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with electro-mechanical devices and systems.
• Proficiency in CNC operation and inspection methods.
• Willingness to handle high explosive devices and obtain necessary clearance.
• Experience in software development (SQL or Python) is a plus.
