Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturable flow control devices and mechanisms for Starship and Super Heavy systems.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, production, testing, and supply chain to enhance component build rates.
- Generate and maintain detailed drawings, specifications, and risk assessments.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for component failures.
- Set standards for rigorous component design and qualification testing.
- Aim for zero in-flight anomalies and minimize production and launch delays.
- Act as chief engineer, collaborating with teams to simplify solutions for vehicle architecture.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in physics or an engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of mechanical design/hands-on manufacturing experience.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with a focus on problem-solving.
- Experience designing and analyzing mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of fluid systems and solid mechanics.
- Hands-on experience with fluid, gas, or high voltage systems.
- Familiarity with test instrumentation and control components.
