Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturable flow control devices and mechanisms for Starship systems.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and production to enhance component build rates.
- Create and maintain detailed drawings, specifications, and risk assessments.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Establish rigorous component design and testing standards.
- Aim for zero in-flight anomalies and minimize production delays.
- Act as chief engineer to inform system-level architecture and minimize costs.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in physics or engineering.
- 1+ years of mechanical design or hands-on manufacturing experience.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Experience with mechanical systems design and analysis.
- Knowledge of fluid systems, electro-mechanical devices, and control components.
- Project management skills and effective communication.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
