Responsibilities
- Provide materials and process support for propulsion system designs and manufacturing.
- Increase reliability of internal designs and manufacturing processes through material and process development.
- Develop physical, mechanical, and thermal properties for materials.
- Improve additive processes and materials through characterization and development.
- Collaborate with additive engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Perform root cause investigations using fractography, metallography, and testing.
- Provide technical reviews and advising for design efforts related to materials requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in materials engineering or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of professional experience in a materials engineering role.
- Experience with manufacturing methods such as additive, casting, or forging.
- Understanding of mechanical testing methods for metals.
- Familiarity with failure analysis and characterization techniques.
- Knowledge of aerospace metals and manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of non-destructive test methods for fracture control.
