The Launch Engineer, Stage 0 Propellant Generation role at SpaceX involves supporting the design and implementation of cryogenic propellant processing and generation systems for Starship launch sites. The position requires a highly motivated individual to analyze, design, and build systems that support rocket launches and testing.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, and build systems for rocket launches and testing.
- Own projects from design reviews to equipment procurement and construction coordination.
- Apply interdisciplinary engineering skills in system-level process design and thermal analysis.
- Collaborate with technicians to build designs and solve real-world problems.
- Maintain communication with operation and construction teams to adjust plans as needed.
- Troubleshoot equipment to meet design objectives and optimize maintenance strategies.
- Provide innovative solutions to challenges with minimal supervision.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, aerospace engineering, or related discipline.
- 1+ years of hands-on build or design experience (internship or project experience qualifies).
- Strong problem-solving skills in time-critical situations.
- Team player with a positive attitude and attention to detail.
- Experience with fluid and structural/mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Willingness to work in challenging outdoor environments and extended hours as needed.
