Responsibilities

  • Drive hardware development for systems within the Starship tower and launch mount from architecture through operational phases.
  • Own design and manufacturing of mechanisms, actuation systems, fluid systems, and large structures.
  • Perform structural, dynamic, thermal, and fluids analysis to optimize design.
  • Collaborate with software and operation engineers to develop robust systems for launch conditions.
  • Work with engineers designing the Starship and Super Heavy vehicles for effective integration.
  • Ensure systems are fault-tolerant and perform reliably in extreme conditions.
  • Support rapid iteration and improvement of technology throughout the program.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
  • 1+ years of experience with mechanical or fluid systems design and analysis.
  • Master’s degree in engineering or related discipline is preferred.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and analysis is preferred.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Physical capability to work at heights and in confined spaces, and meet specific physical demands.
