Responsibilities
- Drive hardware development for systems within the Starship tower and launch mount from architecture through operational phases.
- Own design and manufacturing of mechanisms, actuation systems, fluid systems, and large structures.
- Perform structural, dynamic, thermal, and fluids analysis to optimize design.
- Collaborate with software and operation engineers to develop robust systems for launch conditions.
- Work with engineers designing the Starship and Super Heavy vehicles for effective integration.
- Ensure systems are fault-tolerant and perform reliably in extreme conditions.
- Support rapid iteration and improvement of technology throughout the program.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
- 1+ years of experience with mechanical or fluid systems design and analysis.
- Master’s degree in engineering or related discipline is preferred.
- 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and analysis is preferred.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Physical capability to work at heights and in confined spaces, and meet specific physical demands.
