Launch Engineer, Mechanical/Fluids (Starship Launch Pad)

The role of Launch Engineer, Mechanical/Fluids at SpaceX involves supporting the development of the Starship Tower and Launch Mount, focusing on hardware development from architecture through operational phases.

• Drive hardware development for Starship tower and launch mount systems.
• Own design and manufacturing of mechanisms, actuation systems, and fluid systems.
• Perform structural, dynamic, thermal, and fluids analysis for system optimization.
• Collaborate with software and operation engineers for robust system development.
• Work with engineers on the Starship and Super Heavy vehicles for effective integration.
• Ensure systems are fault-tolerant for extreme launch conditions.
• Maintain physical dexterity for work in tight quarters at high elevations.

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of experience with CAD and FEA software.
• 1+ years of experience with mechanical or fluid systems design and assembly.
• Master's degree in engineering preferred.
• 3+ years of professional mechanical design experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and manufacturing techniques.
• Self-motivated with strong communication skills.
