Responsibilities
- Lead overall system mechanical design, including detailed CAD implementation.
- Manage interactions with the industrial design team.
- Oversee detailed product design and validation with engineering and manufacturing partners.
- Anticipate and respond to manufacturing challenges.
- Engage in both product design and detailed engineering levels.
- Create low and high-fidelity prototypes for design assessment.
- Bridge efforts between a small core team and larger organizations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design for small consumer products.
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
- Experience with various manufacturing methods, including injection molding and CNC fabrication.
- Knowledge of materials and their properties for product features.
- Familiarity with DFM, DFA, and tolerance analysis techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
