Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for mechanical design, equipment, and controls engineers, and R&D technicians.
- Balance competing resources and objectives in a fast-paced environment.
- Attract, hire, onboard, and retain top engineering talent.
- Contribute to system designs from concept through operational support.
- Review and approve key design process work and test plans.
- Collaborate with teams to support existing tools and drive continuous improvement.
- Organize and communicate design decisions and experimental outcomes effectively.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience building and leading technical teams with a focus on professional development.
- Strong collaborative problem-solving skills and effective communication.
- Solid mechanical design fundamentals and experience with CAD software.
- Expertise in lab or industrial automation platforms and programming.
- Experience in R&D settings with the ability to prioritize technical problems.
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Controls Engineering, or a related field.
- 15 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a startup environment.
