Hardware Solutions Firmware Engineer

The Hardware Solutions Firmware Engineer role at Samsara focuses on prototyping new products and technologies within the industrial IoT space, working with cutting-edge technologies in embedded systems, cellular and wireless connectivity, and location technologies.

• Evaluate and prototype new technologies in Cellular and Wireless Connectivity and Location Technologies.
• Work directly with external technology and SoC vendors to influence their roadmaps.
• Collaborate with product teams to align technology exploration with product requirements.
• Bridge the gap between new technologies and potential Samsara products.
• Communicate and collaborate with firmware/software engineers, product managers, and hardware engineers.
• Integrate security considerations into product development.
• Navigate regulatory compliance requirements for wireless and IoT devices.

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on development experience with embedded technologies.
• Experience with embedded Linux systems and RTOS systems.
• Proficiency in low-level C and Linux kernel development.
• Familiarity with hardware-firmware integration and communication protocols.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with cloud connectivity and IoT platforms is a plus.
