Turbomachinery Intern Spring 2026

The Turbomachinery Intern at Rocket Lab will gain hands-on experience with hardware in a fast-paced development and production environment, working closely with mentors and the turbopump team to support engine development.

• Collaborate with mentors and team members to apply engineering concepts.
• Solve real engineering challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Attend regular 1:1 meetings for progress updates and learning.
• Participate in tech talks and networking events with other interns and employees.
• Contribute to turbopump team activities and support manufacturing processes.
• Engage in development projects and cross-functional collaboration.
• Support build activities related to turbomachinery.

• Enrollment in an engineering, physics, or math degree program with remaining semesters post-internship.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• At least 3 months of applied engineering experience.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and work in high-performing teams.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (Solidworks, Catia, NX) is preferred.
• Knowledge of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and aerodynamics is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with hardware is desirable.
