Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and empower a team of Design Engineers.
- Collaborate with production, manufacturing engineering, and business development teams in design reviews.
- Drive the evolution of the Electron launch vehicle for increased performance and new mission capabilities.
- Develop and execute Annual Operating Plans with measurable Key Performance Indicators.
- Manage department budgets and resource allocation efficiently.
- Eliminate production bottlenecks by resolving issues and driving root cause mitigations.
- Champion best practices and a culture of ownership, accountability, and innovation.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering.
- 10+ years in a complex, safety-critical design engineering environment.
- Proven experience in leading complex engineering projects and achieving measurable results.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and guide high-performance teams.
- Exceptional communication skills for distilling complex technical issues.
- Experience in transitioning products from design to high-volume manufacturing.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software and knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA methodologies, and Fault Tree Analysis.
