The Senior Power Systems Engineer at Relativity Space will lead the design, build, and operation of electrical subsystems at the Terran R launch site, collaborating with various teams to ensure the reliability of power systems for rocket launches.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, build, and operation of electrical subsystems at the Terran R launch site.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, ground, vehicle, and recovery vessel teams to size power systems and configure power distribution architectures.
  • Own the operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of power systems during flight campaigns.
  • Develop operating guides, procedures, and training materials for safe operation of electrical power systems.
  • Support the design, deployment, and sustainment of additional electrical infrastructure for launch and recovery operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong command of engineering principles applicable to complex systems.
  • Experience with aerospace, marine, or industrial electrical systems, including high-power generation and distribution.
  • Ability to identify and solve technical problems under pressure.
  • Clear communication skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with the orbital launch industry and hands-on experience with aviation or rocket ground power systems (nice to have).
  • Background working with NFPA, Military, and/or NASA regulations (nice to have).
