Responsibilities
- Take on “Design Responsible Engineer” responsibilities for mechanical design components from requirement definition to serial production.
- Collaborate with Senior Engineers on design, prototyping, testing, and documentation of flight-critical mechanical parts.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD, drawings, and manufacturing documents.
- Work with manufacturing teams to build tools and processes for in-house parts and subsystems.
- Communicate with external suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of products.
- Validate environmental requirements on aircraft parts and materials.
- Lead investigations and solutions for hardware bugs during field testing.
Job Requirements
- 1-4+ years of professional experience in mechanical design.
- Experience in designing and performing structural analysis on composite structures.
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (3D printing, CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Solidworks, NX, Inventor).
- Ability to use FEA and hand calculations for mechanical design validation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An inquisitive attitude and willingness to learn and prototype hands-on.
