Responsibilities
- Take on "Design Responsible Engineer" responsibilities for mechanical design components from initial requirement definition to serial production.
- Collaborate with Senior Engineers on conceptual design, prototyping, testing, iteration, and documentation of flight critical mechanical parts.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD, drawings, and manufacturing documents with attention to detail.
- Work with manufacturing teams to develop tools and processes for in-house parts and subsystems.
- Communicate with external suppliers and fabricators to ensure quality products are received on time.
- Validate environmental requirements on aircraft parts, materials, and assemblies.
- Lead investigations and solutions for hardware bugs during field testing.
Job Requirements
- 2-4+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in aerospace.
- Ability to research new topics and try new things.
- Experience in designing and supporting the manufacture of composite structures.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes including 3D printing, CNC machining, and injection molding.
- Proficiency in any 3D CAD package (Solidworks, NX, Inventor).
- Experience using FEA and hand calculations for mechanical design validation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
