The Combustion Devices Intern role at Rocket Lab involves supporting the design, analysis, and testing of combustion devices as part of the engine program, specifically focusing on thrust chamber assemblies and nozzles. The intern will work closely with mentors and team members to apply engineering concepts in a practical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and testing of combustion devices.
  • Analyze and draft GD&T for components.
  • Collaborate with team members on engineering challenges.
  • Attend regular 1:1 meetings with mentors for guidance.
  • Participate in tech talks and networking events.
  • Apply knowledge from academic studies to real-world applications.
  • Contribute to the development of thrust chamber assemblies and nozzles.

Job Requirements

  • Enrollment in a relevant engineering degree program (aeronautical, astronautical, aerospace).
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • At least 3 months of engineering experience (internships, labs, projects).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM and GD&T (preferred).
  • Familiarity with FEA and engineering software (preferred).
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site for at least 12 weeks.
