Responsibilities
- Own part-level and subassembly mechanical design for CRDS gas analyzers from concept to production.
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to reduce part count and improve manufacturability.
- Design precision mechanical components and select appropriate materials.
- Collaborate with machine shops and manufacturers to ensure designs are manufacturable.
- Build and debug mechanical subassemblies and prototypes.
- Create detailed mechanical drawings and manage CAD models using SolidWorks.
- Lead mechanical aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI) from prototype to production.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for precision instrumentation or similar hardware.
- Expertise in DFM/DFA and tolerance analysis.
- Hands-on experience with machine shops and manufacturers.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and experience with SolidWorks PDM.
- Understanding of materials selection and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with mechanical simulations and environmental qualification testing.
