Responsibilities
- Assumes engineering responsibility for component, module, or subsystem design from concept to manufacturing transfer.
- Performs detailed design and component layout, including BOM, drawings, and procedures for new or improved subsystems.
- Leads and contributes to the design, development, and testing of system modules and integration.
- Identifies and specifies parts, components, and assemblies.
- Collaborates with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of critical components.
- Utilizes CAD tools for thermal analysis, fluid flow patterns, heat transfer, and structural stresses.
- Prepares and chairs design reviews, operating within a cross-functional team.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Substantial working experience as a system engineer or principal engineer.
- Strong ability to use CAD tools for analysis of heat flow, fluid flow, and material properties.
- Knowledge of precision motion of heavy components and tribology is a plus.
- Experience with selecting linear motors and understanding magnetic field interactions.
- Familiarity with optical alignment methods and semiconductor capital equipment industry.
- Experience in managing suppliers of critical parts and components.
