Mechanical Engineer, Autonomous Vehicle

The Mechanical Engineer will be part of the Autonomous Vehicle Hardware group at Nuro, focusing on the design and delivery of autonomous hardware solutions for self-driving technology.

• Own the engineering design, development, and release of autonomous hardware for the Nuro Driver system.
• Lead specification and integration with vehicle partners for performance needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on sensing and electronics architecture.
• Benchmark performance and reliability of electronics technologies.
• Identify key suppliers and manage parts through production readiness.
• Drive quality improvements and cost reductions.
• Communicate technical decisions and development plans to management.

• 4+ years of mechanical design experience with electro-mechanical hardware.
• Experience in all stages of the production pipeline.
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes and materials.
• Ability to create optimal geometry based on analysis.
• Experience with reliability testing and validation plans.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with CAD; familiarity with UG NX is a plus.
