Responsibilities
- Own the engineering specification, targets, architecture, design, and release of AV hardware and integration components.
- Collaborate with industrial design to generate creative ideas and conduct feasibility studies.
- Assist AV hardware engineering teams at OEM partners and manage CAD and data exchange.
- Work closely with manufacturing to support production of components.
- Collaborate with CAE and test teams to design and execute validation plans.
- Support the development of prototypes and vehicle builds, identifying issues and solutions.
- Drive part quality improvements, cost reductions, and communicate technical decisions and development plans.
Job Requirements
- 3 years of experience in mechanical design and vehicle body systems.
- Strong background in areas such as autonomous sensors, EV powertrain, and chassis design.
- Familiarity with the full product development process from concept to production.
- Experience with manufacturing processes like stamping, casting, and injection molding.
- Ability to run static structural simulations and validations.
- Knowledge of GD&T standards and parameter and tolerance design concepts.
- Experience designing for a range of materials optimizing for cost, weight, and durability.
