Responsibilities

  • Design primary and secondary aircraft structural parts and assemblies using metallic and composite materials.
  • Lead and prepare engineering design solutions in collaboration with IPT leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with structural analysis, manufacturing, and materials processes to create flight weight structures.
  • Employ GD&T and Model Based Engineering methods for airframe layouts and engineering definitions.
  • Develop and document best practices while mentoring less experienced engineers.
  • Interface with suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines to prepare Product Definition Packages.
  • Assist in leading design and trade study efforts.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM discipline with 5 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years, or a PhD with no experience.
  • Experience in designing composite aircraft parts and assemblies.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government Secret clearance.
  • Preferred degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency with NX Solid Modelling or similar 3D modeling software.
  • Understanding of GD&T and MBE methods.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
