Responsibilities
- Design primary and secondary aircraft structural parts and assemblies using metallic and composite materials.
- Lead and prepare engineering design solutions in collaboration with IPT leadership and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with structural analysis, manufacturing, and materials processes to create flight weight structures.
- Employ GD&T and Model Based Engineering methods for airframe layouts and engineering definitions.
- Develop and document best practices while mentoring less experienced engineers.
- Interface with suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines to prepare Product Definition Packages.
- Assist in leading design and trade study efforts.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM discipline with 5 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years, or a PhD with no experience.
- Experience in designing composite aircraft parts and assemblies.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government Secret clearance.
- Preferred degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency with NX Solid Modelling or similar 3D modeling software.
- Understanding of GD&T and MBE methods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
