The Mechanical Engineering Intern at Neuralink will design and produce hardware solutions for brain-machine interface devices, focusing on surgical robotics and automation, while collaborating with various engineering and scientific teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce hardware solutions for brain-machine interface devices.
  • Own projects from concept to production in the field of surgical robotics.
  • Collaborate with neuroscientists, biologists, and engineers to determine design criteria.
  • Utilize mechanical engineering skills in challenging projects.
  • Apply engineering first principles in practical applications.
  • Engage in rapid prototyping and precision design and manufacturing.
  • Adapt to various tasks and challenges within the team.

Job Requirements

  • 6+ months of technical experience outside of the classroom.
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks or similar CAD programs (preferred).
  • Experience with conventional machining and rapid prototyping (preferred).
  • Experience with precision design and manufacturing (preferred).
  • Available for a Fall 2025 internship or later.
  • Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable with a problem-solving attitude.
