Responsibilities
- Design and develop new soft goods parts and assemblies for consumer electronic devices.
- Own soft goods engineering activities throughout the product life cycle.
- Collaborate with Industrial Designers and engineering teams to identify challenges and provide solutions.
- Work with small teams and vendors to deliver products within time and cost constraints.
- Implement engineering processes to solve design and manufacturing challenges.
- Create technical specifications and product definitions.
- Test and evaluate soft goods design components for manufacturability and performance.
Job Requirements
- BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in product design engineering for consumer products.
- 2+ years of experience in 3D modeling (SolidWorks, Pro/E, NX).
- Knowledge of mechanical design for manufacturing for consumer electronics.
- Experience with human factors and wearable technologies.
- Experience working with vendors, particularly in China.
- Experience building and assembling prototypes.
