Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and characterize novel wearable tactile sensors.
- Model sensor performance for dexterous manipulation tasks.
- Research and develop next-generation soft wearable sensing technologies.
- Collaborate with the Reality Labs team to address challenges in soft wearables.
- Investigate fundamental scientific and engineering questions regarding soft wearable devices.
- Use experimental data to iteratively improve sensor designs.
- Communicate and publish research findings across diverse disciplines.
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing or has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, Robotics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of hardware prototyping experience or 3+ years in sensor design optimization.
- Must have work authorization in the country of employment.
- Intent to return to degree program post-internship.
- Preferred experience includes internships or contributions to open source projects.
- Proven track record of significant results in research or publications.
- Experience in cross-functional team communication.
