Responsibilities
- Architect complex mechanical solutions as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems.
- Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping product.
- Leverage external teams (CM/JDM/Vendors) to maximize internal resource focus.
- Champion engineering quality and influence the design process within the organization.
- Travel to external vendors up to 20%.
Job Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- 10+ years of product design and development experience in handheld/wearable electronics.
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and CAD.
- Working knowledge of material properties (plastics, metal, adhesive, glass).
- Testing and analysis experience (FEA, Simulation, Design of Experiments).
- Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing techniques (stamping, machining, injection molding).
- Preferred: MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field, experience with end-to-end system architectures, and developing multiple consumer electronics products.
