Responsibilities
- Lead Mechanical Engineering workstreams for sensor and actuator integration onto soft-goods substrates for wearable hardware.
- Work across the full product development cycle to deliver robust mechanical designs from concept to production.
- Partner with cross-functional researchers and engineers to develop wearable architectures for AR/MR interaction.
- Engage with Contract Manufacturers and Joint Development Manufacturers to produce high-quality devices meeting yield and specification targets.
- Conduct feasibility studies and interactive prototyping using CAD tools.
- Consider materials, manufacturability, form factor, ergonomics, and technology integration.
- Collaborate with a highly interdisciplinary team focused on haptics, sensor fusion, and human-computer-interface paradigms.
Job Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent design experience.
- 6+ years of experience working on high-volume consumer products.
- 5+ years of experience in 3D CAD modeling (NX) and physical prototyping.
- Demonstrated experience with manufacturing techniques (machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.).
- Experience with component/system level modeling and optimization.
- Preferred: 3+ years designing handheld and wearable electronics for high-volume manufacturing.
- Preferred: 7+ years of product design/prototyping and R&D experience, including subsystem ownership.
