Responsibilities
- Work with design teams to understand design intent and manufacturability.
- Provide Design for Manufacturability assessments to manage risks and influence designs.
- Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing Managers to establish optimal supply chains.
- Develop processes to meet design, cost, and quality requirements.
- Work closely with suppliers to troubleshoot issues and control critical parameters.
- Design experiments and lead studies for data collection related to design and processes.
- Travel up to 25% to supplier sites.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of manufacturing or process development experience.
- Experience with assembly, lamination, automation, and CNC machining.
- Preferred experience with highly cosmetic consumer electronics parts.
- Hands-on experience with failure analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Asia-based contract manufacturers.
- Experience developing suppliers or equipment for NPI.
