Responsibilities
- Design power distribution systems, including one-line diagrams and overall system architecture for medium- and low-voltage applications.
- Specify and size electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, transfer switches, and related components.
- Support protection and coordination strategies, including short-circuit and arc-flash considerations.
- Develop grounding and bonding approaches aligned with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with mechanical, controls, and auxiliary systems.
- Create and review electrical drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Ensure designs meet applicable NEC, UL, IEEE, and NFPA standards.
Job Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in power distribution, industrial, utility, or mission-critical environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience working with medium-voltage systems (5kV–35kV), including switchgear and protection concepts.
- Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (NEC, UL, IEEE, NFPA).
- Experience with power system studies (short-circuit, coordination, arc-flash) is a plus.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar design tools.
- Preferred: Data center or critical power infrastructure design experience.
