Responsibilities
- Work on end-to-end design and manufacturing of parts and sub-assemblies.
- Fabricate prototypes and iterate rapidly to advance concepts to high volume production.
- Develop specifications and accelerated test plans to validate product lifetime.
- Conduct component-level testing for performance, durability, reliability, and variability.
- Complete and release component designs and documentation, including 2D drawings.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create a cohesive and balanced product.
- Establish relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contract manufacturers in a startup environment.
Job Requirements
- Technical degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 2 - 5 years of professional mechanical design engineering experience on a high-volume product.
- Understanding of materials and high-volume manufacturing methods such as Injection Molding.
- Proficiency in Solidworks modeling 3D CAD design software.
- Comfort with PDM, PLM, Engineering Change Management, and Quality Management systems.
- Knowledge of GD&T, finite element analysis, and design for reliability concepts.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup atmosphere and take ownership of work.
