Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commodity strategy for assigned commodities.
- Strategically manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to mitigate supply chain risks.
- Drive cost and value optimization through negotiations and should-cost modeling.
- Serve as a strategic partner to engineering teams and finance for product design and budget management.
- Manage high-stakes relationships with key suppliers.
- Proactively identify and manage supply chain risks.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
Job Requirements
- 5-7+ years of experience in commodity management or supply chain.
- Expertise in mechanical and electromechanical commodities like sheet metal fabrication or plastic injection molding.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Proven negotiation skills with complex contracts.
- Strong analytical skills for creating sourcing strategies.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to influence decisions and challenge the status quo.
