Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commodity strategies for mechanical and electromechanical parts.
- Strategically manage RFQs to mitigate supply chain risks and reduce costs.
- Drive cost and value optimization through negotiations and should-cost modeling.
- Serve as a strategic partner to engineering and finance teams, influencing product design and technology roadmaps.
- Manage high-stakes supplier relationships, acting as the primary contact for commercial issues.
- Proactively identify and manage supply chain risks related to part availability and lead times.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members and report to senior leadership.
Job Requirements
- 5-7+ years of experience in commodity management, strategic sourcing, or supply chain focused on mechanical and electromechanical commodities.
- Expertise in sheet metal fabrication, plastic injection molding, CNC/machined parts, or fasteners.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Proven negotiation skills with experience in leading complex contracts.
- Strong analytical skills for creating sourcing strategies and business cases.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to influence stakeholders.
- Ability to guide junior team members and provide updates to senior leadership.
