Responsibilities
- Prepares and administers the Project Engineering group's work plan for compliance with budget and schedule.
- Coordinates with other Engineering Directors to prioritize and monitor the Department's work.
- Directs activities of the Project Engineering group, including monitoring consultants and reviewing proposals.
- Develops work scopes, negotiates contracts, and supervises engineering design activities.
- Oversees the design and construction of major bus and rail facilities, including systems design.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Communicates and implements safety policies and maintains accountability for safety performance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field; Master's Degree preferred.
- Five years of management-level experience in facilities or systems engineering design and construction.
- State of California registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect preferred.
- Knowledge of engineering and architectural planning, design, and construction practices.
- Skills in planning, organizing, and directing engineering departments and projects.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and lead project teams.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
