The Orion Reuse Manufacturing Engineer role at Lockheed Martin involves planning and authoring procedures for the disassembly of the Orion Spacecraft post-flight, providing floor support during disassembly operations, and utilizing various engineering and manufacturing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and author procedures for spacecraft disassembly.
  • Provide floor support during mechanical, electrical, and thermal protection system disassembly.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures.
  • Write reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate with technician personnel in a shop floor environment.
  • Handle non-conformance and disposition processes.
  • Utilize Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and CAD/CAM software.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience with MES software and CAD/CAM tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing.
  • Must be a US Citizen due to facility access requirements.
  • Ability to support 2nd shift and occasional weekends.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
