Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer role at K2 Space involves designing, testing, and flying critical electronics for high-powered spacecraft. The position focuses on prototyping electronics assemblies and qualifying hardware for flight within a fast-paced environment.

• Design electronics PCBAs for spacecraft, including architecture, component selection, and circuit board design.
• Qualify designs through environmental testing, including vibration, shock, thermal, and thermal vacuum testing.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate designs into spacecraft systems.
• Develop test equipment, development PCBAs, and test scripts to assist with design and testing.
• Prototype electronics assemblies and execute performance testing.
• Refine designs based on testing outcomes.
• Develop novel designs across all avionics domains.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or 3+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering.
• Experience designing and testing electronics PCBAs in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of circuit simulation tools such as LTspice.
• Familiarity with multi-layer PCBAs for high-speed digital applications (nice to have).
• Understanding of analog control loops and EMI/EMC compliance (nice to have).
• Experience with programming in C/C++, Python, or Matlab (nice to have).
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and adapt to non-traditional career paths.
