Responsibilities
- Perform thermal analysis and simulations to evaluate battery behavior under abuse scenarios.
- Own test planning and execution for battery performance and safety.
- Design, set up, and maintain complex test equipment for battery testing.
- Correlate simulation results with experimental test data.
- Analyze and present data-driven insights and lead cross-functional efforts.
- Support certification efforts by conducting tests and maintaining documentation.
Job Requirements
- BS + 3 years or MS + 1 year of experience in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Solid understanding of battery hazards and failure modes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and foundation in thermodynamics and electrical engineering.
- Willingness to collaborate on test execution.
- Understanding of sensing and data acquisition principles.
- Great written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Desired: Advanced degree and knowledge of li-ion technology and safety testing standards.
