Responsibilities
- Perform thermal analysis and simulations to evaluate battery behavior under abuse scenarios.
- Own test planning and execution for battery safety and performance.
- Design and maintain complex test equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems.
- Correlate simulation results with experimental data to refine thermal models.
- Analyze and present data-driven insights, leading cross-functional efforts.
- Support certification efforts by conducting tests and maintaining documentation.
Job Requirements
- BS + 3 years or MS + 1 year in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Solid understanding of battery hazards and failure modes.
- Strong problem-solving skills in thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
- Willingness to engage in hands-on test execution.
- Fundamental understanding of sensing and data acquisition principles.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Desired: Advanced degree and 5+ years of experience; knowledge of li-ion technology; CAD experience; programming skills in Python or LabVIEW.
