Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of components and assemblies for space applications.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Improve design for weight, stiffness, manufacturability, and integration.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to meet system-level requirements.
- Support integration, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
- Procure mechanical parts and assist in prototype builds and testing.
- Manage configuration control and documentation throughout the design lifecycle.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- 3-6+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in aerospace or high-performance hardware.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Strong understanding of materials, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability principles.
- Proficiency with GD&T standards.
- Basic understanding of thermal and structural considerations in space hardware.
