The R&D Engineering Intern provides technical support to manufacturing and related functions, focusing on improving manufacturing processes and ensuring quality standards are met. The role involves hands-on problem solving and collaboration with various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, executing, and reporting on priorities while reacting to changing priorities.
  • Providing general production support for the assembly area as needed.
  • Reviewing and editing manufacturing instructions for clarity and ease of use.
  • Participating in the evaluation of upgrades for assembly.
  • Troubleshooting issues on the assembly line related to quality and efficiency.
  • Assisting in the selection and implementation of tooling and fixtures for machining and/or assembly jobs.
  • Participating in planning and implementing preventive and corrective actions to reduce scrap, rework, and downtime.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team player mentality.
  • Pursuing a Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering degree from an accredited school.
  • Experience with Solidworks.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
