Director, Engineering, AI Accelerator Cluster Systems

The Director of Engineering for AI Accelerator Cluster Systems is responsible for the provisioning architecture, cluster operations experience, and integration of physical systems engineering with the software stack for Google Cloud’s bare metal accelerator infrastructure.

• Build physical infrastructure and custom networking for data centers.
• Oversee the core bare-metal software stack, including drivers, OS, and firmware.
• Engineer systems with direct GPU/TPU access for high compute density.
• Partner cross-functionally to optimize the AI accelerator stack.
• Collaborate with product and GTM leaders on AI infrastructure strategy.

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 15 years of professional engineering experience.
• 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience in managing physical systems design and software stack.
• Technical expertise in ML workloads and AI infrastructure scaling.
• Strong executive communication skills.
