Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end technical lifecycle of HV/MV infrastructure from site due diligence and campus planning through construction and operational support.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for power system analysis, transformer and substation design, and relay protection systems.
  • Navigate NERC, FERC, and utility requirements to secure approvals and manage technical interactions for grid interconnections.
  • Drive Google’s direct-purchase equipment strategy by collaborating with global commodities and manufacturers.
  • Ensure compliance with codes and standards in the design and construction of critical power infrastructure.
  • Communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.
  • Optimize efficiencies in the design and operation of environmentally-friendly data center facilities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience in the design and construction of mission-critical facilities focused on HV/MV distribution systems.
  • Proficiency in performing and reviewing SCAAF studies using industry-standard software like ETAP.
  • Familiarity with NERC, FERC, NEC, and NESC regulations.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Knowledge of transformer theory and design, and understanding of mechanical and control systems for cross-discipline collaboration.
