Senior System Reliability Engineer

The Senior System Reliability Engineer will work within Ford's Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design team, focusing on ensuring system reliability throughout vehicle development. The role involves defining reliability targets, overseeing design validation tests, and collaborating with various engineering disciplines.

• Define reliability targets for systems and subsystems based on complexity and architecture maturity.
• Develop design validation test campaigns for vehicle systems at different development stages.
• Specify test resources and design accelerated test profiles for systems and subsystems.
• Analyze root causes of failures using forensic engineering tools.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional environment to address diverse engineering problems.
• Use connected vehicle platforms to inform hardware design based on real-life usage data.
• Conduct DFMEA studies for different systems.

• B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, Material Science, applied Physics or Chemistry with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of reliability engineering mathematics and statistical distributions.
• Experience with accelerated life testing and test plan development.
• Strong understanding of physics of failure focusing on various degradation factors.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Proven track record in leading root cause analysis campaigns.
• Familiarity with software tools for data analysis and cloud computing.
