Mechanical Engineering Manager

The Mechanical Engineering Manager will lead the hardware development team at FlightWave, focusing on the design and production of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for various applications. The role involves providing technical direction and ensuring the timely delivery of robust mechanical designs.

• Lead and develop a team of mechanical engineers, providing mentorship and technical direction.
• Oversee the mechanical design of drone airframes and related systems.
• Ensure designs are optimized for performance and manufacturability.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet program requirements.
• Review and approve engineering drawings and documentation.
• Drive design reviews and maintain engineering rigor.
• Manage resource allocation and schedules for multiple projects.

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical design, with 2-3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven success in delivering electro-mechanical products.
• Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and mechanical design fundamentals.
• Background in production-focused design and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with UAS platforms or flight-critical electromechanical systems is a plus.
