Responsibilities
- Conduct analysis of pressure vessels, bolted joints, impellers, bearings, rotors, and stators in EMD product lines.
- Perform ASME Code, Section III and Section VIII analysis, and other engineering code analyses.
- Execute fracture mechanics and fatigue analysis for nuclear-grade and commercial process equipment.
- Utilize strong hand calculation skills for stress analysis and machine design.
- Apply FEA techniques for detailed stress analysis.
- Maintain attention to detail in engineering calculations and analyses.
- Collaborate and contribute to the growth of the Stress Analysis team.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
- Proficiency in hand calculations for stress analysis and machine design.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent computer skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
- Experience in thermal stress analysis is a benefit.
- Background in commercial nuclear industry design and analysis is considered advantageous.
