Responsibilities
- Master optical test and splice equipment and procedures.
- Travel to customer sites to install, test, and document fiber optic communication systems.
- Act as a Project Leader for fiber optic network installations.
- Instruct fiber optic training courses at various locations.
- Provide technical assistance to customers via the Technical Support Line.
- Conduct on-site investigations of product issues raised by customers.
- Provide recommendations to solve quality and/or field-related problems.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical field (preferably Engineering).
- Technical writing ability with emphasis on effective presentation.
- Knowledge of construction and project planning procedures.
- Some related work experience or military background in telecommunications.
- Fluent language skills in Spanish, French, or Portuguese are a plus.
- Must be able to work in various environments and lift up to 50lbs.
- Valid driver's license and primary means of transportation for local travel.
