System and part level design for an autonomous unloader robot
Assemble and test industrial electro-mechanical systems
Prototype mechanical solutions to dynamic problems, fabricating parts as needed (e.g., machining, sheet metal, 3D printing)
Create system tests for verification of design/manufacturing
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on production robots
Participate in design feedback sessions and contribute to process improvements

Actively pursuing or recently completed a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
CAD experience of complex parts & assemblies (Solidworks preferred)
Have designed and fabricated multi-disciplinary projects outside of class
Machine shop experience (mill, lathe, laser cutter, shop tools)
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work at Contoro’s office location in Austin, TX
Preferred: FEA experience with Solidworks, ANSYS, or Abaqus; exposure to basic programming (Python, C++) or ROS; previous internship or co-op in a design role and/or a strong role in a student project team
