Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain multiple robotics products as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Own the architecture, design, analysis, testing, and support of robotic vehicle structures and systems.
- Define requirements and lead structural qualification testing.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team for initial production builds.
- Document Standards and Compliance for designed products.
- Mentor and grow junior engineers within the Mechanical Engineering team.
- Troubleshoot and iterate designs for effective prototyping.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical and structural design.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., Solidworks) and analytical tools (e.g., Ansys).
- Experience with FEA simulations and structural hardware analysis.
- Knowledge of designing for harsh outdoor environments.
- Familiarity with SAE, DOT, and relevant compliance codes.
- BS+ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% for field support.
