Responsibilities

  • Support structural analysis of space hardware through hand calculations, finite element analysis, and testing.
  • Generate or modify existing finite element models of space hardware.
  • Post-process loads and stress results to determine structural margins.
  • Collaborate with mechanical design, manufacturing, and other teams to support space hardware development.
  • Assist in identifying potential structural risks early in the design process.
  • Contribute to design improvements that enhance performance.
  • Work onsite for the duration of the internship.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Completed coursework in mechanics of materials, structural analysis, and finite element methods.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency with finite element analysis tools (e.g., FEMAP, Abaqus, or SolidWorks Simulation).
  • Foundational programming skills in languages such as MATLAB or Python.
  • Strong academic performance (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above).
  • Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills.
