Responsibilities
- Design and model tooling concepts in 3D CAD and perform structural analysis (FEA).
- Partner with engineers to capture tooling requirements for safety and quality.
- Manage procurement and fabrication of tooling, including inspections.
- Oversee commissioning of tooling on the factory floor and develop work instructions.
- Provide feedback on manufacturability during New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and improve existing tool designs.
- Ensure compliance with safety and ergonomic standards.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in tool design or mechanical design for manufacturing.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software and creating detailed 2D drawings with GD&T.
- Hands-on experience with the complete tool lifecycle.
- Knowledge of structural analysis (FEA) and fabrication methods.
- Preferred experience in aerospace tooling design and load-rated lift equipment.
- Familiarity with PLM systems and hands-on fabrication experience is a plus.
