Responsibilities
- Design mechanisms for space flight, including landing gear and docking systems.
- Participate in the entire design cycle of flight hardware, from conceptual to detailed design.
- Create documentation for assembly and testing of development and flight hardware.
- Conduct subsystem level testing, including planning and data analysis.
- Develop component specifications and manage suppliers.
- Design and produce non-flight, proof of concept hardware for R&D projects.
- Collaborate within a small, agile team to adapt to shifting priorities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
- 12+ years of experience in mechanical system design for aerospace.
- Proficient in mechanical design and mechanism analysis using 3D modeling tools (CREO preferred).
- Experience with GD&T analysis and tolerance stacks.
- Strong preference for Systems Engineering experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing of aerospace systems.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
