Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical and structural design solutions for GSE & Tooling projects.
- Create CAD models and drawings, and perform FEA and hand calculations for complex systems.
- Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, including fabrication, assembly, and testing.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers to ensure the success of projects.
- Apply technical expertise and leadership skills to impact safe human spaceflight.
- Focus on quality and detail in designs to support safety and repeatability.
- Engage in continuous improvement of design processes and tools.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, structural, aerospace engineering, or similar.
- 7+ years of experience in design/analysis/fabrication of GSE & Tooling mechanical systems.
- Proficient in CAD (preferably Creo/Windchill) and FEA tools (ANSYS preferred).
- Experience in designing efficient tools with quick turnaround.
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience in designing bolted and welded assemblies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment focused on safety and innovation.
