Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for assigned subsystems and resolve technical challenges.
- Own and deliver mechanical design solutions for large mechanical systems/mechanisms.
- Independently perform and review FEA and hand-calcs for complex mechanical systems.
- Manage external design and fabrication partners throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee equipment fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing & activation.
- Design and analyze bolted connections, mechanical interfaces, and load-bearing joints.
- Analyze mechanical systems under dynamic loading conditions including vibration, shock, and fatigue.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar disciplines.
- 7+ years of experience in design/analysis/construction of large mechanical systems.
- Experience leading mechanical designs from concept through commissioning.
- Proficiency in mechanical design using CAD tools.
- Experience with FEA tools for mechanical analysis.
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Experience in designing heavy-duty mechanisms and analyzing dynamic loading conditions.
