Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical and structural design solutions for GSE & Tooling projects.
- Create CAD models and drawings, and perform FEA and hand calculations for complex mechanical systems.
- Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, including fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers to ensure safe and repeatable spaceflight.
- Apply technical expertise and leadership skills to enhance project outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Engage in the design and analysis of bolted and welded assemblies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, structural, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in design/analysis/fabrication of GSE & Tooling mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (preferably Creo/Windchill) and FEA tools (ANSYS preferred).
- Experience in designing tools with quick turnaround and efficiency.
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong background in designing complex tools for ground and flight hardware.
- Commitment to quality and safety in engineering practices.
